Fields of application
Raw material for extracting fucoxanthin, phycocyanin and phycoerythrin
We are looking for companies that process biomass and extract the target component. For a processor, what matters is not kilograms of biomass but the yield of the component at the required purity and the cost of obtaining it.
Tasks we discuss
- Biomass containing fucoxanthin, a carotenoid of diatoms
- Biomass containing phycobiliproteins — phycocyanin and phycoerythrin
- Comparison with your current raw material source by component yield and extraction costs
What needs to be defined before a trial batch
These questions are part of the survey and the technical specification. If you don't have an answer yet, leave the item open and we will clarify it together.
- 01
Target component and required purity of the final product
- 02
Minimum content in the raw material, units and basis
- 03
Analytical method. For fucoxanthin, a selective quantitative method such as HPLC with a standard; for phycocyanin and phycoerythrin, separate methods
- 04
For phycoerythrin, type, spectral characteristics and purity
- 05
Moisture, drying method, packaging and storage conditions before processing
- 06
Trial batch volume and indicative regular demand
Important to know
- For extraction, by default we discuss separate homogeneous batches: mixing different biomasses dilutes the target component
- Phycocyanin and phycoerythrin are different products with different buyers and requirements
- Component content is confirmed by analysis of the specific batch; published data do not replace it
