Developing production together and funding a pilot
We are looking for a partner to develop microalgae production and sales together. We suggest starting with a pilot at our facility: produce a trial batch of biomass for fucoxanthin, confirm its composition, measure costs and check buyer requirements. The decision to scale up will be based on the pilot results and buyer feedback.
Who we are looking for
A company or entrepreneur interested in developing microalgae production and ready to fund an agreed pilot. A partner with access to processors, ingredient manufacturers and sales channels is especially valuable. Funding without your own commercial team can also be discussed — in that case finding buyers needs a separate contractor and budget.
Our contribution
Cultivation experience, engineering practice, the existing facility, project management and coordination with research contractors. The resources used and team time are set out in the programme; existing equipment is not charged again as a new purchase.
Partner’s contribution
Funding the programme according to the budget; taking part in choosing the product and buyers; commercial contacts or paying for customer search. A site for further production is discussed after the pilot.
First-stage outcome
- An agreed trial batch and its batch record
- Analysis reports
- A report on output and actual costs
- Results of work with potential buyers
- A conclusion on the next stage
If the technical goal is not reached, the partner receives documented test results and a decision to rework or stop, within the agreed terms.
Terms
We start with a contract for a funded pilot programme: stages, budget, reporting and acceptance criteria. A joint venture, equity participation or another form of long-term involvement is considered separately once the project has been tested.
Agreed before work starts
- Payment schedule and permitted budget deviations
- Ownership of newly purchased equipment
- Scope of data to be shared
- Conditions for ending the programme
How the budget is set
The budget is set from the pilot programme before work starts. The estimate shows purchases, team time, analyses and the cost of testing demand. Funding is tied to agreed stages and outcomes.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does the pilot cost?
- The amount is set by a budget for the agreed programme. There is no fixed starting price: it depends on the culture, batch size, analyses and work with buyers.
- Does the partner receive equity?
- Paying for a pilot does not in itself mean acquiring equity, equipment or technology rights. Long-term involvement is discussed separately once the project has been tested.
- What if the result is not achieved?
- Each stage ends with a documented result and a decision: continue, change the programme or stop. A work contract is a commitment to carry out the work, not a guarantee of a discovery, orders or profit.

Discuss a partnership
Tell us about your task and how you might be involved. We will discuss a suitable format, the scope of the first stage and working terms. If the interest is mutual, we will prepare a programme and budget.

For partners outside Russia: we start with an online conversation and an exchange of requirements; a visit to the facility follows substantive interest and agreement on the scope of information. Sample transfer, payment and delivery options are clarified for each specific transaction.
