We are looking for a partner in extracting and purifying valuable microalgae compounds. We suggest agreeing on the starting biomass, final product requirements and a trial processing programme. Together we will measure recovery, quality and costs to decide which product is worth developing for a chosen buyer.
Who we are looking for
Companies with expertise in extraction, purification, analytics or ingredient development that need a cultivation partner.
Our contribution
Agreed material and batch information. The first subject is biomass for fucoxanthin; other pigments are discussed as separate programmes.

The processing method, analytics or funding for the related work.

Before work starts we define each side’s background technology, rights to new results, permitted use of data and the publication procedure.
Frequently asked questions
- What fucoxanthin recovery do you guarantee?
- None in advance: recovery and purity are measured in trial processing. Content in the biomass, extraction recovery and product purity are different measures.
- Who owns the results?
- Each side’s background technology and rights to new results are set out in the contract before work starts.
- Can you work with other pigments?
- Yes, as a separate programme: phycocyanin, phycoerythrin and other compounds each need their own assessment of culture and method.
